Questions

Straight answers before you come in

Simple work — a battery, a clasp, a chain solder — usually falls between 20 and 70 dollars. Ring sizing in gold typically runs 55 to 130 dollars depending on width and how far it moves; platinum and channel-set bands cost more because of the metal and the stones involved. Every job is quoted in writing at the counter before we begin, and the quote is what you pay.

Most in-store repairs are finished in three to five business days. Battery changes, ring cleaning and many engraving jobs are same-day. Full custom design runs three to six weeks from approved drawing to finished piece, because casting, setting and finishing each need their own bench time.

Standard repair, sizing, setting, engraving and appraisal work all happen at our bench in Ontario. The rare exception is a full mechanical watch overhaul or a factory-warranty item, which must go to an authorized service center — and we tell you up front when that applies.

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We can restore a worn setting, reset a stone into a new piece, restring pearls, or appraise an estate for probate. We will also tell you honestly when a piece is better preserved as-is than modernized.

Our written appraisals include full item description, measurements, grading notes, photographs and current replacement value with comparable market documentation — the format carriers expect. Bring your policy details and we will match the wording your insurer requires.

Walk in any time we are open for repairs, batteries, cleaning and quotes. Appraisals and custom design consultations go faster with an appointment, since they need dedicated bench and loupe time.

Not sure which service you need? Ask us.

Describe the piece and what is wrong with it. We will tell you what it needs, what it costs, and whether it is worth doing.
