A working bench, a family name, and one address since 1998.
Alvarado Jewelers has stood on S Oregon St since 1998 — a husband-and-wife owned shop with decades of hands-on experience. Same block, same family, and the same rule: if we cannot do it well ourselves, we will tell you who can.
Our story
Started as a repair bench. Still built around one.
Alvarado Jewelers opened on Oregon Street in 1998, run by a husband-and-wife team who wanted Ontario to have a full-service jeweler of its own. Word travelled the way it does in the Treasure Valley — a resized band here, a restrung strand of pearls there — and the repair work built the store around it.
The shop has grown since then, but the order of operations has not changed. The bench comes first; the cases came second. That is why you can hand us a broken clasp and a custom design commission in the same visit and get both back from the same pair of hands.
We strive to be as friendly and helpful as we can, putting an emphasis on kindness and professionalism in everything we do — service with a smile, and a guarantee you will leave happy.

How we work
Four commitments we will put in writing
Quote first
Nothing is started before you have the price and the method in writing. No surprise line items at pickup.
Stays in-house
Your piece does not leave the building for standard repair, sizing, setting or engraving work.
Shown under the loupe
We inspect the finished work with you, magnified, so you can see the solder joint and the seated stone.
Honest no
If a repair costs more than the piece is worth, or a stone should not be reset, we say so before you spend.
At the bench
Who actually touches your jewelry
Every job is logged to a named person. There is no anonymous back room and no third-party trade shop — the bench jeweler who quotes your repair is the one who performs it.
Bench jeweler — Sizing, retipping, channel and prong setting, chain and clasp repair, platinum and gold soldering. On staff daily
Appraiser — Insurance, estate and probate valuations with current comparable market documentation. By appointment
Engraver — Hand and machine engraving on rings, lockets, flasks, money clips and plaques. Often same day
